CPL Energy - InstallationCPL Energy Systems is the trading name of Chris Laming MIIE. With many years experience gained at sea in the Merchant Navy and on Siesmic Survey vessels Chris made the decision to go self employed in May 1986. Work soon gravitated towards the marine electrical industry and in particular boats and yachts. The quality and accuracy of his work soon gained recognition and Chris was invited on to the committee that produces the Code of Practice for Electrical and Electronic Installations on Small Craft published by the British Marine Electronics Association.

Following an invitation to lecture members of The Cruising Association entitled "Electrical Reliablity for Cruising", Chris decided a book on the subject was needed and "Reliable Marine Electrics", was published by Adlard Coles Nautical in October 1999.

With the increasing awareness of charging batteries by wind and solar energy Chris decided not just to preach about it but to practice it. Hence, the decision to open an office powered by wind and solar energy at Hoo Marina has resulted in increased interest not only from boat owners but industry as well.

Formerly CPL Electrical Engineering, the name was changed at the beginning of January 2001 to reflect the growth in trade in the renewable energy market. CPL are still involved in the marine electrical market.

Many ongoing projects are under way and details will appear on this site in due course.
